How To Use Google Search And Google Adwords With Magento Ecommerce
Powered by Max Banner Ads
Magento commerce is a platform that many are seeking to secure on the Web today.
What's Magento commerce all about?
Online retailers use Magento Ecommerce shopping cart programs to get their wares to a market. A Magento store that is correctly deployed provides a slick piece of art for visitors to enjoy.
However, therein is a problem.
No matter how good a Website is it amounts to little more than a “hill of beans” if it does not reach a market share that it is intended to reach.
That is why I'm happy about Google and Adwords which are both technologies that can help promote a message to a targeted niche audience.
For the record, Google Adwords is designed around paid advertising exposure also known as pay per click or PPC. You place an ad on Google’s network and each time someone clicks that ad you pay for their visit to your Website. If you do it right Google Adwords can be a very powerful tool, done wrong it can be very expensive instead.
This expense with Google Adwords can be avoided.
One of the best ways to avoid losing your shirt financially is by using search engines like Google instead. In a nutshell, a person decides what type of keyword terms they want to show up for and then make sure to be found there. Sound easy? It's not. Appearing on the first page of search engines for free (also known as organic ranking) is part science and part art.
To do so a person must focus on varying aspects of all of the following:
- Title tags (page, graphics & textual links)
- Heading tags (H1 & H2)
- Linking (Internal and external)
- Meta tags (keywords and descriptions)
- URL naming conventions (Domain, folder & file names)
There are those that believe the most important ingredient from the above list is back linking.
I would disagree.
Don’t get me wrong, proper linking is critical for your success on the Internet. However, considering it a only matter of importance is an error in my opinion. That’s even in the wake of taking more than 60 niche related keywords to the front pages of major search engines in less than 3 months for a project that I am heavily involved with and this without a lick of on-page SEO being delivered to a project.
If there were one strategy that I believe is overlooked the most when building links it would be that of a "title" tag.
Many don’t even realize that they can do this.
Let's take a look.
Let’s say a keyword I want to target is “magento commerce”
Unless there is an interface given within the platform that I am building on I am left with having to write an A HREF tag with “<” on each side.
So that you can see the code I have created a very bad A HREF tag below to illustrate.
A HREF=”htt…”>Magento Commerce</A
The missing ingredient to success on the above link is a "title tag" which would look like this.
A HREF=”htt…” title=”Magento Commerce”>Magento Commerce</A
Now that link is worth twice as much as it would have been else wise and if I happen to have a keyword in the URL itself it’s even more valuable. This simple addition will make any and all links much more valuable when you place them to go to your Websites be they made of Magento Ecommerce or not. To that end, I recommend becoming well versed in both Google and Adwords in-order to succeed in all your online marketing efforts.
I hope the above information will be of great use to all your Google and Adwords campaigns as Google and Adwords can be a critical part of success on the Web no matter if you are promoting a Magento Ecommerce shopping cart program or not.
